The interior design of this 9,500 sq.ft mill is a beautiful amalgamation of the old and the new, creating a seamless mix of past and present that is evident in every detail. As we embarked on the design process, we were captivated by the stunning column details, wooden trusses, and glorious arches that were hidden beneath layers of neglect and usage over the years. Our immediate approach was to showcase and revive these elements, restoring them to their former glory. By preserving the authenticity of the space and adding a fresh perspective, we were able to infuse a modern touch into the vintage mill. The result is a pleasant atmosphere that pays homage to the rich history of the space while embracing the contemporary era.
We decluttered the facade by integrating the electrical and HVAC lines seamlessly within the architectural elements. This not only improved functionality but also restored the facade's clean aesthetics and original charm.
To further showcase the beauty of the arched windows, we employed a creative interplay of light, color, texture, and grooves on the facade. This design approach draws the eye towards the building's historic features.
