Originally from the Netherlands, Lara entered practice in 2004, after completing her Master's degree in Architecture from the Technical University of Delft. She went on to found LMC Architects in early 2007.
Previously, she worked as a concept architect with Ratan J. Batliboi Architects (2004-2005), leading the firm’s winning entry for the international competition for the Beautification of Marine Drive, Mumbai. She subsequently worked with STUP Consultants for two and a half years (2005-2007) on various large-scale projects in Doha, Dubai, Ghana, and throughout India.
As a design coordinator at Archetype (2007), she gained vital understanding of all facets of construction practices. With strong conceptual skills, an eye for detail, and an energy to complete projects to the satisfaction of all parties, she has also taught and served as a visiting juror at architecture schools in Mumbai.
